ARC is a creative studio that moves between the realms of design and contemporary jewelry.

It is an invitation to play with the senses, stimulate creativity, and engage in a tactile experience.

Our focus is on creating forms that encompass both the body and the environment, and our work navigates between different scales, prioritizing macro dimensions in our recent creations.

Through the creation of jewelry, we seek to study the body—how it acts, transforms, and moves. We consider our jewelry an extension of the body itself. They are tools to survive the flattening of a globalized world, avenues of escape for undomesticated individuals.

The dedication to detail, a key characteristic of handmade production, is reflected in unique pieces that combine noble woods with silver elements, highlighting the contrast between the two materials.

Our production is internal and meticulous, with wood as the primary raw material used. All ARC woods are noble, rare, and reclaimed. They come from donations, searches, research, a keen eye, and being in the right place. It is a web of relationships built over time, with nature, history, places, and people.

Woodworkers, luthiers, artists, partnerships, and sometimes chance encounters around the world (Brazil, Italy, the United States, Africa, India—these are just a few of the countries where our materials originate).

More than just part of the process, the wood itself is the process. It is the element that takes us on a sensory journey through colors, grains, scents, and textures.

We create ornaments in transformation, whether through the organic composition of the materials used or the potential to change their shapes and positions. This makes ARC a brand that transcends time, with consistency and permanence.

The proximity between objects and jewelry materializes in a complementary journey of ARC, which strengthens the connection between body adornment and environmental decoration.

Starting from hybrid objects that traverse between body and space, ARC reaches the creation of sculptures, paving a path that approaches the realms of art and design.

ABOUT VIOLA

A B O U T  V I O L A

The soul of ARC is Viola Pineider, artist and founder. She was born and raised in Florence, Italy, and has traveled through various cities in Europe, enriching her own wealth of human and artistic experiences.

Her professional training is a culmination of experiences with talented artists from the underground scene of the 90s and 2000s, along with 14 years of work in traditional Italian woodworking.

After practicing for 5 years alongside an experienced carpenter, she took over the management of the workshop in 2010, carrying out numerous furniture restoration and interior decoration projects. Her love for restoring antique furniture developed an attentive and discerning eye as an artist, along with an aesthetic sense that allows her to combine forms and colors effectively. Currently based in Rio de Janeiro, she connects with other artistic experiences while continuing her woodworking practice.

With the ease of someone who grew up surrounded by art, and backed by solid technical training, Viola has created a unique style that merges the creativity of an unconventional world with the elegance and lightness of Italian design.

In late 2018, ARC was born—a journey of experimentation and studio work aimed at creating new expressions in the world of jewelry. All ARC pieces are designed and handcrafted by Viola Pineider, using leftover and reclaimed special woods.
